Chewutti, Avatar of The Water by Darkberry-Fruity Chewutti, Avatar of The Water by Darkberry-Fruity
Commission for The "Devacurse" Trading Card Game

This goddess's name is " Chewutti " avatar of the water, one of six goddesses of elements from Devacurse card game novel. From Granddava Studio commission, Chewutti has a reference from "Mother Ganga" from Hindu religion. But she is different from the actual "Mother Ganga" because Chewutti is Ganga in the Devacurse card game novel which has different interpretation from Hindu. From the data I researched. Ganga is a river goddess with four arms, one of the arms carries a little ewer and one holds trident as a weapon. Her vehicle is a giant fish or crocodile. In Thailand, there is a ceremony called "Loykratong Day" which people pay respect to her to apologize for their usage of her water for drinking and daily life activities for years. This tradition maybe traced way back in the history of Thailand. From all the information I found, I tried to create her differently from the originally indian design by giving her more of a calm, cold, and fierce look as you may agree.

An incredible piece; not only is it delicious to look at in a technical aspect, but there's a very deep sense of power to the image without it being the obvious crashing of waves and churning of seas. I think you captured the essence of the goddess very well; despite the fact that the seas are calm, I definitely wouldn't want to piss her off ;)
